Ooh lucky you! A plant is such a thoughtful gift as with just a little bit of love and attention it can last for ages. We've put together a few handy hints to help you take care of your new addition (and don't worry, there's no need to sing to it!)

First things first - best to get your lily plant out of the box and see if it needs a drink. They can be thirsty little things!

Where should I put my lily plant?

Your lily plant will love to be anywhere inside that's bright and not too chilly. once the lily blooms it's pollen may drop, so be aware of this when you choose where to place your plant as the pollen may stain.

How should I look after my lily plant?

Keep the compost moist, without over-watering. When it's warm, you'll need to water more often and if you have some general-purpose plant food your lily plant would be grateful of a feed now and then. Just follow the instructions on your plant food.

A few other things to bear in mind:

We're sure we don't need to remind you that your plant will prefer to be upright at all times! We'd also recommend popping your plants on a mat or coaster to protect your surfaces from any spillages, scratches or staining. Please also be aware that lilies are harmful to pets, so keep your plant away from furry friends.
